The countdown has begun…..we are one week away from our departure date! I guess time really hasn’t stood still, even though 5 weeks ago I was sure that was the case! Our house has become consumed with piles…..piles of laundry, piles of paperwork, a pile of clothes for Alexander, a pile of toys for the kids, the pile of luggage that is packed and ready to go, and even the beginnings of a pile of clothes for Marina. Won’t it be rewarding when those piles are actually packed into luggage and ready for take-off! Maybe by Wednesday night…. :O)
Today is also a special day because Alexander turns 18 months old today! Happy half birthday, sweetheart!!! We wish we could have been with him to celebrate today, but know that we will be there soon! He will turn 19 months old the day we land in Detroit, so we’ll have a little celebration for him then!

God bless all of you as you prepare to travel to Russia. Big hugs to both Alexander and Marina. We can't wait to meet him. We will be praying hard for a safe journey and speedy return.

I can't believe you guys leave tomorrow! Our thoughts will be with all of you. Please give Alexander a huge hug and a kiss from his aunt, uncle, and cousin in Iowa!!! If there is anything that we can do, please don't hesitate to ask. We can't wait for all of you to return. Safe travels and we love you!
