Two weekends ago we stayed at the Double JJ Ranch and Golf Resort with Mike’s parents and his brother and girlfriend. We had a great time despite the somewhat dreary weather. The guys managed to hack their way through the golf course on Saturday, and came back to the cabin wet and very grumpy! I think it was much tougher than any of them expected, but they did say it was absolutely beautiful! I guess it’s good they got some enjoyment out of the day! :O) The kids and the girls spent the morning at the petting zoo, going for pony rides, having lunch in the saloon, playing on the playground, etc. The kids loved the animals and had a great time on the playground. After naptime, we went for a horse-drawn hayride to a corn maze and pumpkin patch and each of the kids picked out their first pumpkins of the fall! We celebrated Mark’s birthday at dinner on Saturday and had a great meal!

On Sunday we drove over to Gaylord to spend the afternoon and evening at Mike’s sister’s house, and we were able to meet our new niece, Emily! She’s definitely a cutie and a very good baby! The kids had fun playing with Justin and Cory as well!
This past weekend we had the 2nd annual MOPS family hayride at our house. With 58 people coming to our house, I was really praying for good weather! It did end up raining lightly while we were on the hayride, but no one seemed to mind…..especially the kids!!! Once we got back to the house, the sun came out and it was a perfect afternoon/evening. We hid small pumpkins for the kids to find, had a potluck and just let the kids run off their energy! I think we were pretty successful! There were lots of sleepy kiddos leaving our house last night! We all had a great time and are thankful that so many of our friends were able to be here!

This coming week and next week we will be preparing for Alexander’s birthday! I can’t believe that in 12 days he will turn 2!!! This will be his first big birthday party, which is really exciting for me. We’ll do all that we can to assure that he has a wonderful party and really enjoys his special day! He chose his own birthday party theme….”choo-choo!” So, we’re having a Thomas the Train party! Fun, fun!!!
