Tonight we had Borscht, Pelmeni and Cranberry Mousse for dinner. Mike and I topped off our meal with a shot of Russian Standard Vodka. It was fun to take ourselves back to Russia and talk about all of the things we did when we were there. The kids didn’t love the food, but tolerated it enough to make a meal out of it! It really was fun!

After dinner we gave each of the kids a small gift that we had brought back with us from Russia. They each received a large colored pencil with a Russian soldier carved onto one end. We hope to keep their Russian roots alive in them by doing these small things that will help keep it fresh in their minds. 
And sadly, after dinner and gift opening, we took down our Christmas tree. Marina was really not looking forward to it, but got excited knowing that we get to pick out a new tree and do it all over again next year! She was concerned that our tree will be sad without all of the ornaments hanging from it! :O) She really does have a big heart!
