On Saturday my cousin and his fiancé were married in the chapel on the beautiful campus of the University of Richmond. The ceremony was perfect in every way! It was also Marina’s big day….she finally got to be the flower girl! She was very excited! We attended the rehearsal on Friday afternoon and she must have practiced walking down the aisle at least 15 times (completely on her own will!) When the time came for her to walk down the aisle on Saturday she was ready and very, very excited. She needed no prompting from me to get her started down that aisle, and she was perfect! I was very proud of her! She looked like a little princess in her beautiful dress and even wore a shiny little tiara!

The kids had a great time dancing and running around at the reception. Their little legs must have had many, many miles on them by the time we were back in the hotel room and they were in bed. Marina found a dance partner just her size and the two of them waltzed their way around the dance floor over and over and over again. She even managed to get a dance or two with her own little brother! And they both enjoyed just running around with their cousin, Caitlin.
On Sunday, Mike and I joined my sister and brother-in-law in a trip to Washington D.C. It was a beautiful day and we all had a great time. Neither Bryan nor Mike had even been to D.C. before, so it was especially exciting for them. Since we went on a Sunday many of the buildings were closed, but we were still able to see much more than we thought we would. We started at the Washington Monument, then walked through the World War II Memorial and along the reflecting pool to the Korean War Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial and the Vietnam War Memorial. We then walked through the campus of George Washington University and stopped for lunch. We walked to the White House and then jumped on the subway and rode over to Capitol Hill. We visited the Capitol Building, the Senate Office Buildings, the Library of Congress and the Supreme Court. We drove around Dupont Circle on our way to Arlington National Cemetary, but Arlington had closed by that time. It really was a lot of fun and a great opportunity to spend time with my sister and brother-in-law since we don’t get that chance very often.

I cannot believe that it’s happened already, but we knew it was coming. One of her middle front teeth had been loose for over a week and a half and she has been very anxious to get rid of it. It must have been ready, because it literally just fell out of her mouth! We put it in a little tooth-shaped ceramic box and she has kept a close eye on that tooth all afternoon! We had talked about the tooth fairy a couple of times before today and she really felt strongly about NOT wanting a visit from the tooth fairy, and she still feels that way tonight. She would much rather keep her tooth in its’ little box and not get a surprise from the tooth fairy, so that’s what we’ll do!

My parent’s have been successful in their search for a new house in this area and made an offer that was accepted over the weekend. They both seem to be very excited about it and I am excited that they will be living so close! I am really anxious to see the inside of this house. It looks beautiful in the pictures they have taken! I think they are set to close in early December, so hopefully they might spend this Christmas in their new house!
It seems that fall has finally come! The weather is now cooler, the leaves are changing color and there are pumpkins all over! The kids are getting excited for Halloween! I hope you are enjoying your fall!

Oh my gosh, Marina truly was a princess! What a handsome pair your two darling children are. Thank you so much for your continuing blog. We love keeping up with how the kids are growing and all that you are doing.
