Busy, busy, busy.....

Well, you can tell that summer is quickly approaching. We are right into the busy-ness that comes with this time of year! Which, of course, means that time is passing much too quickly!

A week ago was Marina’s special day at school again. She was really torn between wanting to take watermelon (one of her FAVORITES!!) or chocolate chip cookies (another favorite!) She decided on watermelon and fruit punch juice boxes. Like always, she loved every minute of her special day!

Yesterday we celebrated a birthday at our house. Yep….Scrunchy turned one year old yesterday! Short of having birthday cake and ice cream, we had a full blown birthday party for him. Marina had picked out a few new toys for him months ago, and had been patiently awaiting this special day. She wrapped them all by herself and was nearly busting at the seams with anticipation! Of course, she was much too excited to wait for Mike to get home from work to begin the celebration, so we partied without him. I’m sure he’s disappointed! :O) We sang “happy birthday” to our favorite kitty and Marina helped him open his presents. To be honest, it was absolutely adorable watching this whole scenario. Ridiculous, but adorable!! :O)

And today was Marina’s last day of preschool! Gosh, it’s so hard to believe that the school year has already come to an end! The kids all had a great day today. One of the local police officers visited their class to give them all a bike safety lesson. All of the kids brought bikes from home and then went outside to spend the morning riding bikes, playing on the playground, having a picnic snack and play with the friends they will miss all summer long. It’s really neat to see the friendships that were formed in these little ones this year. In fact, Marina is really excited to have some of her friends come over to play this summer.

I think that’s about the extent of the news at our house right now. We are heading out of town for a few days this weekend. I think we have a few weeks off now before the extra-curricular activities begin. Marina is again taking a dance class this summer, and hopefully another swim class. I am hoping to get Alexander into the swim class as well.
