We weathered some pretty bad thunderstorms on Friday late afternoon and evening and by the end, our tent was floating on a big puddle! Not much water inside the tent, but our site was a MESS! We had heard on the radio that the area had gotten as much as 4 inches of rain! Needless to say, there were lots of puddles for the kids to play in!

Saturday and Sunday were beautiful, sunny days, but HOT! It was 96 degrees on Saturday and 92 degrees on Sunday. We did everything possible to stay cool, but we failed miserably! We went to Cabela’s in the morning and stayed long enough to have lunch. Then back at the campground, Marina and I spent a few hours at the pool while Alexander (and probably Mike, too!) napped. After dinner we went next door to the miniature golf facility and the kids both got their chance at their first mini golf game. Both fizzled out after only a few holes….it was just too stinkin’ hot! But, still fun! After that, we went back to the campground to have the much anticipated s’mores! A big hit for both of the kids and their daddy! :O) It was a great weekend and such a great way to spend some quality time together as a family.

Thanks to all of you that called to check on Alexander last week after surgery. His procedure went very well on Monday and he is coming along with his recovery. The doctor told us today that he no longer has any restrictions and is doing very well!
Well, we are enjoying the coolness of the air conditioning at home today. I don’t think any of us are too anxious to get outside in the heat and humidity today after our weekend! I hope you all have a wonderful week!
