Summer fun!

We are off to a really great start this summer! The weather has been beautiful and has given us an opportunity to be outside a lot with the kids. It’s a great chance for them to blow off some energy and for me to get some fresh air!

We have been to the zoo a couple of times this summer….twice in Battle Creek and once with Uncle Mark and Kelly in Grand Rapids. The kids enjoy seeing the animals…..especially the ones they can ride on, touch or feed! They have also enjoyed playing in their swimming pool, sprinkler and slip n’ slide! They both looooove the water!

We had Alexander baptized last Sunday and it was a perfect day! He did really well during the ceremony and he is learning how to sit well in church! As long as he has snacks, he is happy and quiet! After church we had about 30 family and friends over to our house for a celebration and it was wonderful! Thanks to all of you who came to help us celebrate!

Marina started dance classes last night. And just like last summer….she LOVES it! She was so excited all day yesterday and the anticipation was almost more than she could take! She did really well and really likes her new teacher! It is so fun to watch her do something she loves so much! We’ve also enrolled her in a swimming class at the local high school this summer. She will start in a week and a half and seems to be excited about that, too. More than anything, she’s just ready to swim in Grandpa and Grandma’s pool!

We are gearing up for another busy summer. It seems like it’s getting harder and harder to find a free weekend for us during the summer months! It’s hard to believe, but next Thursday (June 22nd) we will celebrate Marina’s adoption day! Yep….2 years ago we were blessed to have her join our family! Mike is taking the day off work so we can spend the day together as a family, doing something fun. We’ll let Marina decide what she wants to do to celebrate, but I can guarantee it will involve at least one meal in a restaurant, some ice cream and some shopping! Such a mommy’s girl!!!!! :O)
