Mike and I had a good trip to Georgia this week and accomplished what we were really hoping for.....we bought a house! We arrived in Georgia late Sunday night and drove right to the hotel. We started househunting at 9:00am on Monday and went straight through the day, until 6:00pm and without a stop for lunch, seeing over 25 houses. On Tuesday, we went back to see a few of the houses that we really liked, along with 3 houses we hadn't seen on Monday. It was the 3rd of these 3 houses that we bought!
I've included some pictures below, but thought I'd give you an idea about the layout of the house. The subdivision that we are in seems really nice. We have been told that there are a lot of young families with children, which will be great for our kids! When you walk in the front door of the house the master bedroom and bathroom are on the left and formal dining room in on the immediate right. Just past the dining room are the stairs going to the 2nd level and just beyond the stairs it opens up into the great room. The right side of the great room opens up into the kitchen and eating area. The stairs going down to the basement are in the kitchen area and then there is a hallway that leads through the house (to the right and towards the back of the house.) The doorway out into the garage is in this hallway along with a utility closet, laundry room, guest bedroom and full bathroom. On the upstairs level there are 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. There is also a full finished basement where there is a workshop, 2 rec/tv rooms, a bedroom and a full bathroom. And here are some pictures....

The subdivision we will be living in is a pool and tennis community, so this is a picture of the pool and pool house. On Wednesday after we signed the paperwork for the house we were also able to visit some preschools for Alexander and get him signed up and also we visited Marina's school and registered her for kindergarten. Whew....one less thing to do after we move!
We have lots of room for visitors in our new house, so we expect to see many of you down there! And I'm not kidding....so start planning those winter visits to Georgia! We'll be expecting you!!

p.s. We also have a sign in our front yard now, and our house listing is official, so bring on the buyers! We don't need to own 2 houses for long! :O)

I LOVE it! I think that you all are going to be able to have a nice time there be able to make some great memories. This is VERY exciting for sure!

What a wonderful home you have selected and what a whirlwind trip you had. Have you caught your breath yet? I'm still praying for that quick sell on the house.
I'm impressed, but not surprised! You two accomplished everything you set out to do. What a great team! Sounds like a nice neighborhood and I'm sure the kids will love the pool and all their new friends they will make. You're all still in our prayers!
