Exciting news....

Our family has some exciting news that we’re anxious to share with all of you, so we decided that we’d start with a post on our blog to see how many people we can reach!

We are adding to our family!!! We have begun the process to adopt a little blessing from South Korea and we are very excited! We first enquired about the South Korea program a few months ago, but at that time our agency was not accepting any new families, but last Monday they reopened the program and we are all set to move forward! We will not know if our new little one will be a boy or girl until we receive our referral, but the chances are much greater for a boy. The referral should come approximately 12-15 months after our paperwork is sent to Korea. We are working on that paperwork now, and hope to have everything completed in the next 2-4 weeks. Unlike our Russian adoptions, we have the option to either travel to South Korea to pick up our new little one, or have the child escorted here. We are currently undecided, and will not have to make that final decision for quite some time. It seems to be taking 3-4 months after referral to receive clearance to travel, so the entire process should take anywhere from 15-19 months after our paperwork is complete. Of course, like any adoption, timeframes can change dramatically, but we hope for the best! And most likely, this little one will be about a year old when he or she comes home. We have started talking to Marina and Alexander about having a new sibling, and it’s funny to hear the things they think of. In fact, just this very instant Marina pulled one of her dolls out of the toy box and told me that her baby sister is home! So, obviously Marina is hoping for a baby sister, and Alexander is just happy that he will get to be a BIG brother! This is too much fun!!! :O)
