Catching up...again!

 I am going to attempt to be so much better at updating my blog this summer as we enjoy all the fun that comes with being on summer break.  We have had a few busy weeks already.  Marina finished up her 2nd grade school year and had a wonderful year.  She had an awesome report card and glowing remarks from her teacher.  While having a hard time with it at first, she handled moving in the middle of the school year well and had no trouble meeting new friends right away.  Alexander graduated from kindergarten this year and he also had a great report card.  He handled the move extremely well and has also made many new friends. 

Alexander finished up a very successful soccer season a few weeks ago.  Soccer really seems to be a great sport for him and he seems to have some good talent at his age.  He is looking forward to playing again in the fall and next spring. 

Last week we spent a week on the beach for our annual family gathering at Lake Michigan.  It was an awesome week, despite the weather, and we loved spending the time with all of the family.  My parents will be celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary next week and decided to renew their wedding vows on the Lake Michigan beach last week while all of us were there.  It was beautiful!  We had a ton of fun and are already looking foward to going back next year!  Here are some pictures from the week:

 We had to leave the beach house a day early to bring Marina back to attend her dress rehearsal on Friday and ballet recital on Saturday.  She has worked hard since November trying to catch up with what the rest of the girls in her class had been working on since September and her hard work paid off.  She is a beautiful ballerina, full of grace and talent.  She danced beautifully on the stage and we are so proud of her! 

 The big excitement for Alexander last week was losing not just one, but both of his top front teeth.  He now has a huge toothless smile that makes his face light up.  I LOVE it! 

We are already enjoying our summer break by sleeping in and having lazy mornings.  The kids are content spending the days at home playing, although I'm sure that will change by the end of the week!  We have a great day of celebration happening tomorrow, so stop by again in the next day or two!  Happy summer!!
